Why spend big bucks at your local juice shop when you can make an equally satisfying and nutrient-rich juice at home?
This juice is nicely tart and very green — in the best way possible. Without any added sweet fruits, this is a great choice for anyone who wants to cut back on all sugars and still drink their juice. (And remember: most bottled juices are full of sugar, so making your own is definitely the way to go!)
- 4 stalks celery
- ½ cucumber
- 2 leaves kale
- 1 leaf chard, any variety (with stem)
- 1 handful spinach
- ½ cup parsley
- ½ lemon peeled
- 1-inch sliced fresh ginger (more if you like it hot!)
- Put all the ingredients through a juicer. Alternate between harder foods like celery and cucumber and the leafy greens to help move everything through smoothly.
Adjusting the amount of ginger is a great way to add more flavor here, depending on your preference. You can always add more little by little until you’ve achieved the desired level of spiciness!
