Stress-Busting Pink Beetroot Latte Recipe

Ahh, the holidays. There’s the twinkling lights, the fluffy white snow, Mariah Carey blasting on every radio station, and, oh yeah — the stress. While this season is undoubtedly filled with all sorts of cheer, your jam-packed schedule of family gatherings and gift shopping can definitely get a little overwhelming at times. Luckily, there’s a warm and cozy beverage that just so happens to help combat some of that pent-up tension.

While hot cocoa is a seasonal staple, beetroot lattes are the must-sips you should be making on the regular throughout the next couple months. Due to beets’ high concentration of nitrates, adding them into your diet is a great way to keep your blood sugar levels in check, which will help lessen the risk of developing conditions like heart disease. And because of the betalain they contain — which gives them their pink pigment — you could also score some inflammation-fighting benefits. Beets aren’t the only star in this latte, though, because another plant included in the mix has some pretty impressive qualities, too. It’s called ashwagandha, and studies have shown it can help lower the levels of cortisol in your body and protect you from stress.

Even if you’re not a beet lover — it’s an acquired taste! — this sweet mix will serve as just the perfectly soothing treat you’ve been searching for. Plus, it’s so easy to make that you’ll have an Instagram-worthy latte in minutes.
