1) Warnings From a Flabby Mouse! The only difference between these 2 mice is that the top one was exposed at birth to just one part per billion of an endocrine-disrupting chemical. The brief exposure programmed the mouse to put on fat, and although there were no differences in caloric intake or expenditure, it continued to put on flab long after the chemical was gone. Important piece by Nicholas Kristof.
As 2013 winds down to a close, it’s time to look back at the top blog posts of the year from the Be Well team. As you can see from this list, people are getting passionate about cutting out sugar and processed foods. This year, I’ve seen more awareness and scrutiny of the ingredients in food than ever before. What’s really encouraging is that our hottest blog post of the year was the Top 9 Superfoods, and in the top 13 list, were two on Cleansing, two on getting sugar out of our diets, and a few on gluten-free eating.
At the end of every year I put out 2 cd’s of my favorite tracks. This year, there is a mix of my favorite songs of this year from around the world, and my favorite African chill songs. In the fifteen years I have been doing this, I have never had three tracks from one artist on a mix. This year I do….from Michael Franti’s new cd, “All People” which is definitely my favorite cd of the year. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I have.
