For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, January can be a bit gloomy. Sunlight is of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it variety. Temperatures are low, the holiday buzz has ended and all that’s left is a burning desire to sleep until April. Chances are, even if you haven’t diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder (SAD), most f us will feel at least some of winter’s depressive effects, such as oversleeping, difficulty waking up, carb cravings, fatigue and general malaise.
