There is a big reason why breakfast has long been referred to as the most important meal of the day—the food you eat in the morning will influence your energy levels, cravings, emotions, and clarity throughout your day and can even affect how you sleep that night! Incorporating nutrient-dense foods for breakfast, such as healthy fats, good-quality proteins, and colorful vegetables, will provide a sense of balance and satiation, encouraging you to continue making healthy choices all day.

Change. Why is it that the changes we promise to make on New Year’s Day are so easily broken just a few days later? Why is it that sticking with new, healthy habits can seem like such a challenge? One reason might be that we’re not actually enjoying the process of making those changes. But what if they were fun? What if these healthy changes were more like treats that filled us with good feelings instead of resentment or cravings for old, not-so-healthy habits? With this in mind – the idea that changes that feel fun are the ones that’ll stick – I’ve put together a ‘pleasurable plan’ for 2016.
Here at Be Well, we often work with clients that skip breakfast or potentially worse, grab something not-so-great to go such as a muffin or bagel! While everyone is different, we find that most people feel more energized when they nourish themselves with a healthy breakfast in the morning. Even during busy mornings, it’s easy to get together a quick, delicious and nutritious breakfast.
you’re doing the Be Well Cleanse and looking for some tasty shake combos, look no further! When I do the Cleanse, I often make a smoothie for my breakfast shake, so that it’s a bit more filling. Then I have the other 2 shakes with just water or almond milk. If weight loss is an important goal for you, we recommend skipping out on the smoothies and keeping the shakes simple by mixing them up with water, almond milk or coconut milk. For all of these, simply add ingredients to the blender, blend and enjoy!
