Thanksgiving Good-Gut Smoothie Recipe

Whether you already over-ate at the various “Friendsgivings” you attended or are preparing to indulge on the big day, this concoction of goodness is just what you need to support your gut health and bring you right back to that wellness track.

One of the simplest ways to support your health is by tending to the plethora of microbes residing in your gut. Hippocrates says, “all disease begins in the gut,” and it makes sense. Although the gut is inside our body, it’s actually an external organ whose main function is to prevent harmful substances from entering our body. When that barrier that’s supposed to separate us from the external environment is compromised, large foreign molecules are able to pass through to the bloodstream, and serious damage ensues. Cultivating gut health is the surest way to keep health in check — and this smoothie features the perfect ingredients to do just that. Don’t feel bad about indulging; life is about balance!
